That said, I think the "Death Valley" thing is a bit overplayed. The new Stadium will have the same dimensions as the old, but even that was not Joe DiMaggio's Yankee Stadium, hasn't been for a long time, and once they brought the fences in for Winfield, I really don't think it's been that hard on righties (though I say that without checking any stats). It's interesting that there are so many extreme LEFTY pull hitters... but are there ANY Righties? Ever seen the shift on the left side if the INF? I do worry about RH power hitters in the Stadium who aren't monsters. Our grand canyon in LF doesn't hurt ARod that much, as he hit's HRs to all fields, and when he does pull the ball, they are often monster shots. I have to wonder how many HRs Holliday might lose to our Death Valley. Nonetheless, if people can keep their expectations reasonable, he's a guy to take a shot on.
