href='[2]"
this is where boras clients could work in the favor of the yanks - even if holliday gets traded i doubt he signs an extension with that team. boras will advise him to go on the market and i think he is someone the yanks should try to sign if he becomes a free agent next winter but not trade for.

<blockquote>Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes Blockquotes</blockquote>

Which could come in particularly handy.

I would not trade Hughes. That said, I think the "Death Valley" thing is a bit overplayed. The new Stadium will have the same dimensions as the old, but even that was not Joe DiMaggio's Yankee Stadium, hasn't been for a long time, and once they brought the fences in for Winfield, I really don't think it's been that hard on righties (though I say that without checking any stats). In fact, a true pull-hitting righty has a pretty short shot down the left field line.

Hey, I think I just figured out how to do jumping back to a comment! Just put the a href="" and /a tags (with brackets around a href="" and around /a) around the square bracketed number, and put the link to the comment between the quotation marks. Get the link for the comment by right clicking on the date and time of that comment. A bit of a pain, but it works.

I think fairpole and the toaster were pretty awesome, but it is nice to be able to use html tags - and the dynamic preview is very cool.

I'm not ready to do that.

I don't think Holiday will be as good in the AL East as a Yankee as he has been, but he is still a very solid player.. and the type of guy we want. It's interesting that there are so many extreme LEFTY pull hitters... but are there ANY Righties? Ever seen the shift on the left side if the INF? I do worry about RH power hitters in the Stadium who aren't monsters. Our grand canyon in LF doesn't hurt ARod that much, as he hit's HRs to all fields, and when he does pull the ball, they are often monster shots. I have to wonder how many HRs Holliday might lose to our Death Valley.

Nonetheless, if people can keep their expectations reasonable, he's a guy to take a shot on. Hate to lose Phil and other arms, but we will need 2 or 3 OFers by opening day 2010, so somethings gotta give.

P.S. LOVE this dynamic preview feature. Much better then the old one at the 'old' Banter!

Wow, Barfield is 49?! I remember that trade like it was yesterday - I guess I'm getting old too. =)

OTOH, that other fellow you mention - whoever he is - played for the Yanks not that long ago. Hard to believe he was in his peak (26-27) years at that time. I would have pegged him as much older.

The Heyman bit on Holliday may explain this morning's NoMaas article. I'm not sure what to think about Holliday.
