Julio could easily fill that role of "mediocrity we really don't need." The Yankees' practice of signing almost every so-so player coming off a good year doesn't leave me encouraged either. And, as mentioned, he walks a ton of people, which has to be viewed as a bonus in the eyes of the Yankee decision makers. LaTroy Hawkins, for starters.
