[5] I can imagine a Sox fan working on that puzzle (I realize you might need a vivid imagination to see a Sox fan working on a crossword puzzle, but humor me):

"Those chowdaheads ovah at the Noo Yok papah spell Okajima with five lettahs"

[0] "47. Pitcher Hideki _____ "

Would that be Okajima or Irabu?

Since today's paper will probably have a story about George Steinbrenner, maybe 14 Down should be "Fat, _____ toad"

[0] Dick Howser was the first person I thought of after the 2004 ALCS

[2] I can think of several names that would work better than "Bronx Mowgli." So if they have a brother, will they name him "Baloo?" Hope that kid can play a sport, because around here cats'll be snapping hard on that name...

I'm bummed that Mussina has retired. He was modest about himself and was a real team guy. He was a standup guy, too, whenever he pitched badly (which wasn't too often except in 2007-when he was hurt and said nothing about it). I personally liked his attitude towards the press although I'm sure they didn't like it. It was obvious he was smarter than any of the guys asking him dumb questions. He was classy and I hope he will return to baseball with the Yankees in some capacity when he wants to go back to work. I'm thankful I got to see him pitch so often. It's a shame he didn't get a World Series Ring but he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I've got no reservations about saying that. Good Luck Mike!
