Yeah, check out these rates from the bullpen last year:

Rivera - 77 K : 6 BB, 71 innings
Veras - 63 K : 29 BB, 58 innings
Edwar - 63 K : 24 BB, 55 innings
Giese - 29 K : 14 BB, 43 innings
Bruney - 33 K: 16 BB, 34 innings
David.R - 36 K: 15 BB, 30 innings
Marte - 24 K : 10 BB, 18 innings
Coke - 14 K; 2 BB, 15 innings
J.Alba - 13 K: 6 BB, 14 innings

Speaking of which:
http://thetrawbros.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/jessica-alba-bikini-07.jpg

Aaaaa-any case back on track:
352 K : 122 BB in 358 innings for guys who will be part of the pen in 2009. And they have Melacon close too (89 K : 22 B in 95 mL innings in 2008).

I think the can manage without Joba.

[1] I'm glad someone said it. Thanks, Cliff.

[2] Basketball in HD is very cool, but football (and baseball) are especially cool. Football, because you can see more of the field (and so more of the stuff happening away from the ball), and baseball because its baseball.

The only problem is, once you watch it in HD, you find SD to be lacking.

So wait a minute. When DL Burnett gets hurt, I'd rather have Joba in the bullpen because it puts less stress on the inferior pitcher replacing Burnett?

The hell?

I wonder how many broadcasts of things like NBC's Saturday Game of the Week or ABC's Monday Night Baseball they have access to, if any.

Those would be fun to see again ....

In NYC now, checked out the MLB Network yesterday, some old “Greatest Moments” program from 2001, hosted by Ray Liotta..not very exciting…am sure the regular season will bring more interesting shows…

I think you'll see a lot of stuff that was released on MLB video for the time being. Last night, they were replaying the 2004 WS video. Today, it appears they're replaying select games from the 2008 postseason.

I do look forward to seeing rebroadcasts of games past, something like a series of baseball's greatest games.

also watched my first game in High-Def (on YES, Yanks-Angels game repeat from August)..wow!! looking forward to the change over in Japan, 2011. The field looks Amazing..bet basketball even better...

Luis Sojo is 44..wonder if he'd be an option if Joe G fails to bring the hardware?? Or is Luis too much of a "good-guy"?

Please let's not reopen the Joba debate. He got hurt in a game in which he took a wicked fall because Ivan Rodriguez nearly took his head off with a throw to second base while Joba was running toward the plate. No one was willing to blame the fall for the injury because that would have made Rodriguez a guilty party, but I find it very difficult to believe the fall and the shoulder injury were unrelated. It had nothing to do with workload and everything to do with a fluke play.
