[29] If I thought O’Connor was merely trying to say that Alex is a cheater, I would agree, but his phraseology is much more expansive, which would seem to indicate, at least to me, that he intended to paint Alex’s entire career, as well as his physical development, as being fraudulent. I think that’s patently absurd.

[28] Putting aside the legitimacy of any analysis that may or may not be brought to bear upon The Rod’s lost weekend in Texas, the fact remains – as I have already pointed out – calling him a “hoax” is entirely justifiable given the fact that he purposefully and knowingly presented himself as something other than what he actually is. He said he was clean; he’s dirty; hoax.

The only asterisk I’ll give you is that “hoax” is probably not the most appropriate term in this case, but that’s beside the point, really.

[27] Alex admitted that he did steroids, but since any credible analysis of his stats reveals that the the steroids (taken during the timeframe that he has acknowledged) did not have a significant impact on performance, calling him a hoax is an ad hominem attack, rather than an accurate description of the pertinent facts.

The proof that A Rod is a steroid-pumped hoax was furnished by none other than A Rod. He went on TV and admitted it. Even if it didn’t impact his stats he still ended up being not what he’d previously claimed, ie clean.

Not to mention, conclusively proving steroid use affected or did not affect someone’s performance five years ago would be … challenging.

Anyway, why are we talking about steroids? That’s so yesterday’s news. As I hopefully and correctly guessed, A Rod would continue to pay bizarro dividends even while rehabbing. The photo spread is mint. In fact I’d say it is his crowning achievement of A Rodness.

Given that O’Connor has produced < 0 evidence that steroids significantly impacted Alex’s stats, he has no more proof that Alex is “a steroid-pumped hoax” than I have proof that O’Connor isn’t mentally challenged.

It amazes me how people get so bothered by Arod taking photos. It’s one thing to spout such nonsense as a liquored-up fan, but for a sportswriter to actually suggest that a photo spread hurts a team is comical.

[14] Actually, he should probably give them a raise because it seems as if people can’t get enough of Arod, which is probably what he wants. The irony is that those who don’t like him can’t ignore him.

Not enough people are sticking up for A Rod. We’ve had a couple but the ol’ “at least he doesn’t beat his wife” aint gonna cut it today. Please look at that photo spread again and bring it!!!

Here’s what I have: People need to quit talking about him kissing his reflection. He’s not. He’s just very, very, very close to the mirror. There’s a difference!

Alex,

You really must drink all of the Trappist Ales you can get your hands on! I would visit as many abbeys as I could if I were going. There are six such places in Belgium (Orval, Chimay, Westvleteren, Rochefort, Westmalle and Achel) and they’ve each been brewing ales for more than three centuries. I always recommend doing that for anyone going there for any length of time. Also, watch out for the Walloons!

I do agree that he should fire whomever allegedly his PR advisor is (I’m still skeptical that this human exists) I don’t think getting rid of Madonna’s people is the full answer, because Alex was like this long before he found Madonna.
