He may be most reliable, but is he most trusted? :)

Wowzers, saw the highlights from the Mutts game... Delgado almost became The Biggest Loser for dropping an infield pop fly with a runner on third, which naturally extended the inning and the Braves scored another run before their closer induces a flyout from Chipper. As bad as we've looked against Boston, be glad we're not the Mutts...

[399] They talked about how hard it must be for Girardi to trust his options, but they didn't ask why he would lift his most reliable middle guy after only 11 pitches. That's the pink elephant.

So much for the tough NY media. Instead of asking about the non-squeeze and lifting Coke after 11 pitches, they focus on Joba. The former issues deal with winning and losing, while the latter deals with an ongoing soap opera.

Damn, this team is a mess. How did it get to this?

You'll have to look at the transaction list... Perhaps use the roster better.

[378] I'd take Valentine, but I'm biased; I like Bobby V.

[385] My point was that from what I've seen from Valentine's time in Japan, managing the Yanks would be a step down. I could see him accepting the job because he seems the type to love a challenge.

I say Valentine as well.

This team, and this city, pays for performance.
Right now we're not getting it.
Put him on the street.

Save for Joba, Damon and Melky, these guys look soulless. Even Swish seems like he's on Ritalin. How can you root for this? It's almost like if just one thing doesn't go right, they fall apart or lose their shit. Why?

And I have to agree with William, the story is not Joba, it's about the lack of execution from the offense and the lack of aggressiveness from the pitchers. Why??

I'm an agnostic on the manager change issue. I don't think Girardi is long for the job. But I don't think firing him in mid-season would be very helpful.

I really think CC is gonna turn the corner soon, I don't worry about him at all. He's already shown us flashes, it's just a question of consistency.

[385] Then again, it seems as if the team will not renew his contract after this season, so maybe he is ripe to return. I think Valentine would be a huge upgrade for the Yankees.
