If that's true, it would have been yet another short-sighted decision by an often abysmally run franchise. Since the Knicks last won a championship in 1973, the Lakers have won eight. That's just wrong. The Knicks have repeatedly looked for shortcuts in order to win now, but a win now philosophy almost always means never winning.
