Glad I went to bed after the top half of the first. Did manage to take in the first six innings of the Mudhens game, between thunderstorms. They missed only a three run jack for the homerun cycle (solo, 2 run, 3 run, granny).

Ah well, probably better that the team signed its draft picks.

AJ pitched well. Swisher gambled and lost by diving on Davis’s 2B (rather than playing it on a hop) and Girardi inexplicably brought the infield in with Tomko on the mound.

[8] I liked Sports Night, but agreed with a critic (can’t remember which) who complained the characters looked and sounded too much alike.

i figured tomko would either shut the yanks out or get totally bombed. too bad it wasn’t the latter.

hopefully cc gets the winning streak going again. else we’ll need a will sighting to overcome the curse of flash.

Solid recap, but that wasn’t Tomko. That was a bizarro look-alike named Okmot Tterb (same name backwards, see?).
The Yankees were victimized by a new Moneyball strategy in which shrewd executives like Bean appear to dumpster dive for a released pitcher, and then secretly deploy his genetically doctored evil twin.
It’ll be in all the papers tomorrow, but ya heard it here first.
