Written with Jordan’s usual perceptiveness about human nature and behavior, especially in this passage:
“In this way Laura can satisfy both her desire always to be in control and another desire, she denies, to be a comforting, maternal person.” Very interesting – I wonder what she’s up to now, ten years later. Divorced with two kids, is my wild guess.

And what a glorious illustration to go with it! Did it appear with the initial publication in Penthouse Magazine? And who is the artist?
