Before we move on to the next game, did anyone remark on the following unbelievable Jon Miller comment during the game?
Joe Morgan had pointed out that on a tag-up the runner can leave as soon as the ball hits the fielder’s glove. Miller agreed, and claimed to have seen a game in which a runner scored from third on a foul pop that the fielder touched and then dropped. He said he saw this play.
My god.
I swear, Joe Morgan looked like a giant in the booth. He was Dustin Pedroia standing between two five year olds, towering over them like a giant. A huge, gritty, giant.

Both of whom are pulling no shows (something about “being out of town” and some guy named “Yom Kippur”)…so its just me, the GF, and Ramiro Pena tonight.

[13] [14] I had Miranda at 1B, Cervelli catching, Gardner in CF, Cano at 2B right – but the rest, nope. I thought for sure Jeter would play today, and that Hinske would be in LF with Damon at DH. Oh well.

[2] Tasteless and not even particularly witty or clever. Some of their older stuff was pretty goddammed funny, IMO (I’ll never forget Torre discovers fire, burns bullpen on 08.07.05 [http://tinyurl.com/y8fhysq], which still makes me laugh out loud). But more recent entries are pretty tired and unimaginative. I actually rarely frequent the site anymore.
