[146] I'm with you. He has very few saves over 1 inning as well and it's pretty well known that he has made it clear that he will not come in during the 8th inning. It's a shame he has the record, because I don't even rate him as a top 10 all-time closer.

[145] So did he go around? Kind of weird way to end a season, especially a 15 inning game.

[136] You know the funny thing about A-rod's grand slam today was that it sorta won a bet for me against my wife. She was a big fan of A-rod until all that stuff came out about him cheating on his wife with Madonna. She stopped wearing her A-rod shirt that she bought in NY last year. So, early this year I asked her if she would ever wear that shirt again and her response was that if he hit a grand slam she would (he might have been up with the bases loaded at the time and thus the request). When they showed his number of career grand slams I told her that she would be wearing that shirt again soon. Ever time after that when he would come up with the bases loaded I would bring up the bet. Remember the one against the Twins where he got robbed? I couldn't believe it. I had given up on it (I think he had something like 20 ab's with the bases loaded this year with no homers). I can't believe he did it on his last ab of the regular season.

Yankees LHP Andy Pettitte wound up earning $10.5 million of the $12 million available under his contract — $500,000 more than the Yankees' original offer of $10 million guaranteed that he failed to accept. Pettitte had a $5.5 million base salary, earned $3 million based on innings and $2 million for staying on the active roster the entire season. He missed $750,000 bonuses for 200 and 210 innings, finishing with 194 2-3.

[127] damn, i forgot to include Beltran. with a good, productive, healthy season next year, he can reach 300-300, along with Alex.

Beltran = 273/286. he can certainly hit 27 homers and steal 14 bags, but i'm guessing it'll take him 2 seasons. he should end up in though...
