I'll be lurking around on the banter tonight via my blackberry, so I doubt I'll comment much. I just hope we're all celebrating tonight.

And, like a lot of y'all I'm a huge Beatles fan, but I also like the Dead and the Floyd (I go back far enough to call them "The" Floyd). But I have to say the best weather song, in my opinion, is Riders on the Storm.

Let's go Yan-kees! Let's get that 40th pennant tonight and send the Angels back to this place:

Why does the game start at 8:20? Are these people on acid?

And we should have won Game 5.

Still and all, Andy will set things right.

[14] Perfect, RI. Perfect.

I do love Chopin, though don't seek him out as much as I should. I watched "The Pianist" again last night, btw.

I'm glad we all enjoy "Rain." As to the new remasters, I've heard them only on youtube but have to say, they sound fabulous. I've heard details I hadn't quite heard before, and that's saying a lot, seeing as how the Beatles are religion for me.

Oh, and you know how the Beatles are like the Yankees? Greatness. Back in 2000 when we sputtered into the postseason on fumes and somehow managed to win it all, I thought of the Let it Be sessions. You watch "Let it Be" and you see a lot of very sloppy, even feckless at times music-making. Basically, you see the wheels coming off before your eyes.

But then, miraculously, by the time they get up to the roof, they manage to be the Beatles. That they could get through all that negativity and acrimony and boredom and still manage to rally by the end, well, that's why they're called the Beatles.
