That’s a big issue, Gaudin getting a start. I just can’t see that happening no matter what happens.

LoHud has the lineups. Looks like the Yanks are going with their standard NL lineup: Swisher in RF, Pettitte batting 9th, everyone else where you would expect them.

[6] Alex, why should a rainout threaten CC’s starts? Couldn’t the Yankees just skip Andy’s turn and start CC in game 3 on Sunday? Then pitch Pettitte monday (game 4), AJ tuesday (game 5), and still save CC for game 7 on Thursday?

The only issue would be game 6, which would have to fall on Gaudin.

Man, I sure hope this doesn’t get rained out. That would kill the off-day and probably make it impossible for CC to get two more starts.

[3] well, i’m not sure what’s up w/ Hamels. he was boy wonder last year and has been erratic this year. he hasn’t had great results lately. however, his velocity, K/9, BB/9, HR/9 are pretty much EXACTLY the same as last season. he had a lucky BABIP last year and unlucky this year. i haven’t looked at his other peripherals or FIP, but i don’t think everything with him is tied into his BABIP.

we need to be patient, see if he can spot his fastball, then sit on his offspeed stuff. i hope we don’t miss Matusi’s bat too much tonight.

if it’s cold and rainy, i wonder how well Hamels will be able to grip the ball and get a feel for his pitches. i trust Andy and with all his postseason experience, i’m not worried about any extraneous factors. i just hope “Good Andy” shows up!

[2] I was just thinking before that we really have a credible chance of winning the next two. Andy and CC have both been consistently good enough to win. I don’t know about the clowns the other guys are throwing out there, but I like our chances a lot with Andy and CC.
