It was one of the first movies where they allowed the flare from the sun to be in the cut. That was edgy at the time, especially for a Hollywood movie. I remember watching with my dad as a kid. It was so romantic, so doomed. I haven't seen it in a few years. Love the erotic scene with the busty blonde. Newman was great. I like cool hand luke. Paul Newman was of course, amazingly cool, and the atmosphere of the prison was terrifying...but the direction was blah, real pedestrian and rather dated...are you a fan?
