[9] Take it for what it's worth, but his publicist says he was sick with flu or flu-like symptoms when he died. The police assumed it may have been overdose, though they never found anything to indicate that; you can take that for what it's worth as well. Bottom line, it's too early to say what happened to him.

[4] Jeez..... you'ld think at 38 that HEAVY drug use was out of his system. So sad that so many people with both money and fame are killing themselves.

I'll likely take a look back at the first week or so of games soon, but I don't think we really know anything yet. Without going back over the box scores, I'd say Kevin Russo has impressed, but I haven't seen him play enough shortstop to argue he should make the team over Peña. In general, I feel like the hitters aren't doing much as a group. I've seen nothing memorable from Winn, Thames, or Gardner thus far. Not much impression from the two (?) times I've seen Logan either. I don't think he's going to make the team. There are too many spots already claimed. It's really too early to say anything, but I'll make some attempt to sum up the first week or so soon.

[4] Same age as me. But a lot more hard drug use, sadly. At least you probably don't suffer much if at all when you go that way.

[1] Firefox + Windows XP for me.

I don't mind the Kay comments, he bugs me too. Perhaps just ease the throttle.

Of course, though, I yearn for the days of Scooter. On the announcing side, not the horrible Yankee 1980s.

I have seen very little of the games so far (even though it seems like YES is showing more this Spring then in years past). So for Cliff or anyone else who has been paying attention, a few questions.

How does Boone Logan look? The results didn't sound too good yesterday, but do you think he has a chance to make the club or is he going to be stashed in Scranton? When he came over in the trade, the talk made him sound pretty decent. Not a star, but a serviceable pitcher.

Does the outfield situation seem to be reaching any conclusion? Is Winn doing anything? Thames? How do you see that playing out?

Is Pena the leader for the backup infielder job? Any surprises on the horizon for the bench player positions?

Thanks guys (and Cliff). I live and die by these recaps. Nowhere else can you get this level of information without actually watching the games (which - damn! - I wish I could more often).

It will take a hell of a lot more than that for me to even think about thinking about thinking about Sabathia with any kind of concern.

This site still doesn't format properly with my browser. Doesn't anyone else use Safari?
