Wowzers, Rakim in his prime. Such a shame he had to waste energy like that on a couple of malt liquor commercials, I admit back in the day I had the DJ Pooh-produced spots on rewind, but today I almost shudder at the effect they had on my comrades, who did like to imbibe without a timetable in mind. Now The R doesn't sound like this anymore, chasing past glory by trying to fit in with the current youth instead of teach; especially sad/frustrating when it seems the current youth has lost connection with hip hop's own short history (never mind its roots). Sigh... /rant.
