[4] And to see Greinke and Duchscherer thriving is tremendous, especially Greinke. His battle with depression was, and is, an inspirational story that needs to be told better.

[4] Overcoming psychological issues are one thing when it's clinical like Greinke and Duchscherer's situations. And they're in KC and Oakland, respectively. Talent is one thing, but when it gets to New York and suddenly the mind wins out because you're no longer insulated by obscurity, that's when the s--t hits the fan. Deep down, I have faith in Vazquez, too. For 15 starts here, he was great. Just want to see him ball up and pitch like the man they've traded for. Twice.

Thinking about catchers:
Louisville stole four bases on Montero yesterday, but he also threw out two guys. Not super-impressive, but that's worse than break-even for the Bats: in the long run it's better not to try to steal than to get caught 1/3 of the time.
Austin Romine went 3 for 5 with Trenton. Twelve game hitting streak and red hot.

Just sayin'.

I have faith in Javy. If Greinke and Duchs can overcome crippling psychological issues on top of confidence problems, so can Vazquez. I was a fan of the first move for him and a fan of the second.

Talent, much like blood, will out.

[2] Cliff ... No need to justify it. I just thought it was interesting how sort of cavalierly your statement was presented. I'd have probably put it down as a loss, too, regardless of who he was facing. No confidence there, at all.

My comment was more confidence in Danks than lack of same in Vazquez. If Vazquez was facing anyone else in that rotation I'd not have said it looked like a loss on paper.

The funniest part of the Onion piece is that they couldn't even get the uniform colors right.
