[4] I'd say "Don't Worry Baby" is its equal - the musical setting isn't as lush as Spector's, but the emotion behind the vocals is even stronger than Ronnie's. "Don't Worry Baby" stands with The Miracles' "You Really Got A Hold On Me" and The Who's "Can't Explain" as absolutely perfect expressions of teenage romantic confusion.

[2] Makes a lot of sense. I know "Don't Worry Baby" was essentially Wilson's attempt at "Be My Baby." He came pretty close. "Be My Baby" has to be in the top five-to-ten tracks of the rock n' roll era, an almost perfectly realized song and recording.

No game tonight. Ah well. I've got a pitcher of homemade lemonade in the fridge. Mud Hens rained out yesterday so two 7 inning games @ 6:30, plans are to sit on the back porch sipping, listening and reading while the hounds enjoy the backyard.

Summertime.

Brian Wilson regularly cites this track and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue as his favorite pieces of music. I guess that might seem incongruous at first, but then look at Brian Wilson's music and it all comes together.
