I was only half following the game, with the sound turned down, while doing some work. It was the eighth inning and i didn't know that it was a no hitter! After I posted 2), I noticed and started following the game...and look what happens. I blame me!!

Still, Jays win, Rays lose. That's the most important thing.

Brandon John Morrow just missed another no-hitter, and 1 hits TB. Toronto wins 1-0.

i used to carry a Richie Allen baseball card in my wallet. Went to Penn 1965-1969. Saw him play at Shibe Park from up close many times. On nights when the stadium wasn't occupied by a significant number of fans, the ushers let us kids move down to the good seats. He would sometimes goof around and make faces towards the stands or draw notes in the dirt.

In first years, he played third and then moved to first. I don't remember him being such a bad fielder as the stats suggest, but the numbers don't lie.

He wasn't very tall, but he was big. Never saw anyone hit the ball harder than he did. And keep in mind, he played during a time when people weren't bashing the ball. His stats were awesome.

Traded. Traded. Traded. And he wins the MVP in 1972 with the White Sox. One of the great players of his time. You shouldda seen him play.

Who knows what or why, but if they write it, I will read it.

Just a sidenote, he played with Jim Bunning on the Phillies. No wonder he never felt loved.
