Of course, they have needed a better back-up for a while now, but I just don't see the team going with an extra position player and dropping a pitcher, and I don't see them demoting Peña for an internal option. I mean, if he hasn't played his way out of job yet... Now, I could see the Yankees trying to land a proven veteran™, like Counsell. And if George were still alive, Counsell would be extra attractive because his team once beat the Yankees in a World Series ages ago. But is Counsell, for sake of argument, an improvement on Peña at this point? Well, maybe. Hmm. Yeah, I saw this.
