[32] It does seem fragile, and they’ll probably make the playoffs, but can they go far? Will they toughen up and play at a high level for an entire game and series in the post season? This has been a very interesting season, with underlying currents of intrigue. Time will tell.

[24] Another baseball score keeping contradiction. If a batter hits into a DP with, say, the bases loaded, he gets no credit for an RBI even though he drove the run in. So, in this case, the batter is “punished” for hitting into a DP. But if a fielder fouls up a DP but they get one out, he is not given an error because you can’t assume a DP. This implies that the DP is such a difficult and exotic play that it can never be assumed. But if that’s the case, why is it held against a the batter?
