[7] yeah, that was some crew in the Mothers. I'm not too familiar with their stuff, much more into the later Zappa albums.

[6] I do like Lowell George and Little Feat, but I have yet to hear that solo album. I will check it out. It's always funny to me that Lowell was in the Mothers of Invention, albeit briefly.

[5] yeah, Walking in the Wind is arguably their best song.

I wrongfully put off "No Other" for years. It had been recommended to me several times but I never got to it until about a year and a half ago. Amazing album. Listening to it is an event that I look forward to.

I highly recommend the Lowell George record. Even if you're not a fan of his work with Little Feat, it's mostly a covers album of tunes he loved. He could sing the phonebook as far as Im concerned, as long as it's accompanied by his tasty slide guitar work.

[3] I find that Traffic album uneven, but Walking in the Wind is great great great.

Gene Clark's "No Other" is one of the greatest albums of the 70s and far too few people know it. Clark was seriously brilliant.

Also, "Manassas" is a great great album and another one too often ignored. Serious genre-bending and great songs. All 90s "alt-country" kids should have a copy.

I love how Ginger Baker put "Ginger" on his drums instead of "Cream".

slightly off topic (though related via Blind Faith) I listened to Traffic's "When The Eagle Flies" walking the dog this morning. Haven't heard it in years, but still sounds great.
I've been on a classic 70s kick the past few weeks, giving repeated listens to Lowell George's "Thanks I'll Eat It Here", Gene Clark's "No Other", Stephen Stills "Manassas" etc.

Hah! I almost sent you a link the other day to a clip of a great live version of Steppin' Out with a note to suggest it as a beat of the day.

Gotta love Cream.
