I know probably everyone’s run off, but i have a question. Looking at Earl Weaver, he just kind of looks silly in his uniform. Where did the tradition of managers wearing uniforms in baseball start? Can you imagine a football or basketball coach doing that?

[96] please don’t take offense to that, I just remember thinking it was big during the game. I knew he’d pitched the last two nights. I checked his game log and, sure enough, he’d pitched in Toronto that Sunday. BUT in those three games he had a total of 28 pitches, IIRC; however, he still had to warm up, etc. I just thought it was remarkable that he pitched for the 4th day and I thought we were going to get him

And we almost did. He threw 24 pitches total and Jeter, Teix and Cano all had decent AB’s before Arod K’d. I guess the story line is that Girardi wouldn’t do that but Maddon would. Personally I think Maddon’s an idiot and Sori will get hurt; and he’ll regret it.
