Very nice and lighthearted, as it should be. You keep that negativity in it’s brine, hopefully it will soften.

That giant new hunk of brass in monument park effected the gravitational forces within the stadium, so Mo’s pitches were a little off the mark. He should be adjusted to it by tonight.

Derek, Curtis,Frankie, Swish all had good games; imagine if Arod, Cano, and Tex contributed with average games at bat…it would have been a laugher. Berkman…not so funny.

A win tonight takes all the pressure off for the rest of the series, then maybe AJ can keep his powder and diaper dry for Wednesday. Thursday’s Price-Sabathia match-up should be golden.

I like “quickness” as a count noun (as in, “shoving it in this pessimist’s face with a quickness”).

Why do the Yankees have “the slimmest of leads”? Or did you write that from a pre-game perspective?

I was remiss not include Minnesota in the discussion of best teams in baseball. They’re scorching hot and an excellent team.

Ultimately, I think their weak division means they need a better record than the yanks and rays to be considered the “best in baseball” but if you’re facing them in the ALDS, you’ll have your hands full.

I was there tonight. The monument is huge, but whatever. He earned it. The ceremony was very well done. Sort of reminded me of a funeral procession, but in some ways, we were all at a big funeral, so it worked.
