[18] the Greek paper cups are still around, but not as widespread as they used to be. A coffee cart I frequented until a few years ago had them. Cup of coffee and buttered roll was $1.50. I used to give the them 2 bucks, and never had to tell them my order - slightly dark with regular milk, no sugar.

[5] My buddy and I were walking through a park in Queens and saw an ice cream vendor of a certain well-known company parked along the road. My friend and I wondered where such vendors would answer a call of nature if need be.

Fate decided to amuse herself by having us walk by at the moment one such call was made... The answer involved a large soda cup with the company logo on it and a certain amount of hubris...

11] For a sec I thought you were referring to Mister Softee, but now I know better. Big Gay is now a destination for the next Apple trip. The Salty Pimp looks good.

Back to the question: Gotta go with a bigass pretzel, lots of salt and some mustard.

[5] Why would something like that be limited to a cart? Seems to me all you need is a grill and a nose.

Oh man, this is a job for the Vendys:

http://streetvendor.org/vendys/press

I'm lucky enough to work near the Biryani Cart on 46th and 6th.

http://www.biryanicart.com/

Two chicken kati rolls for $6 - that's my vote.

I haven't eaten off a cart since my father passed along this story several years back:

He ordered a hot dog and while the guy is preparing it for him, he keeps hearing a sizzling sound (tss...tss). My father looks around and can't figure it out. The hot dog goes in the bun...tss...the mustard goes on...tss...and so forth. Finally, just as he is paying for the hot dog, he notices a drop on the vendors nose that eventually falls off onto the grill...tss.

My local crack cart serves up a great lamb pita with relish and badass green hot sauce (hold the yogurt sauce, man). It's small pieces of bonafide lamb, not that whack stuff they slice off a spit. I kicked my weekly habit a few years ago, and I'm down to a couple times a month. During Lent I love the falafaal pita with badass green sauce (hold the yogurt sauce, man).
