Friend, I'm not a Yankee fan and I don't play one on TV. I log in here to read (and rarely post) mostly when you folks are pulling your hair out. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed last night's breast-beating and blame tossing.

I want to throw a few cents in here in agreement about the botch job Joe Girardi is doing with his/your team. That said, he has really met his match in Ron Washington.

There's so much baseball info on the internet that it's almost silly to pay for content, but Joe Sheehan is so insightful that his newsletter is worth every nickel. In today's edition, he devotes 2346 (yes, folks, that's two thousand, three hundred and forty six) words to the mistakes made by both managers just last night. You really should read it.

Enjoy the game and I hope you all have a happy, healthy and productive off-season, starting around 7 PM tonight.

PS. That fan really did interfere with Cruz last night. And, yes, Armbrister did interfere with Pudge.

Strangely, enough, this isn't from The Onion:

An unhinged fan with a crush on Cameron Diaz ran onto the Yankee Stadium field during Monday night’s game to confront A-Rod about his love for the stunning starlet, sources said.

But Grim LeRogue, 33, was tackled by Stadium security as he attempted to rush the third baseman in the top of the fifth inning in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series, cops said.

Tucked in LeRogue’s pocket, police found a picture of Alex Rodriguez with his face crossed out and a drawing of a small gun pointed at his head, a source said. Etched on the photo were the words, “You gotta go, buddy.”

“He was absolutely out of his f——-g mind,” said the source, adding that LeRogue was rambling the entire time he was in custody.

...The crazed Bronx man, who did not have a weapon, also told police that he wanted to kill Bobby Brown, because Osama Bin Laden has a crush on the Grammy winner’s wife, Whitney Houston, the source said.

The bigger question is ... where do I watch the game?

Last year I watched a bunch of the post-season games at Leo's Allstar, in Tujunga, CA, which is owned by a Yankees fan and always shows the games on YES.

Obviously, you know what happened last year.

So far, this year, I haven't gone to watch any of the games at Leo's, watching them on post-season tv and last night, at a friend's house who has cable.

Now, I don't know, I feel like I should change up the mojo and go watch a game at Leo's, but when we win today, that means I'll have to keep going back to Leo's until we lose.

The things I do for love ...

Same thing happened to me with an old BMW I inherited. Thing stopped running. The local mechanic suggested a $600 dollar fuel pumnp. I somehow got it to my mechanic, found out it wa the relay, $0.50. The old one had a piece of tin foil in it to complete the circuit or something. He actually just had to replace the foil...

Maybe the Yankees need a piece of foil to comlete the circuit?

our broke down Score Truck reminds me of the moving truck I rented when I moved from L.A back to NY in the summer of '02. My wife was waiting for me in NY with our newborn, and I break down about an hour out of L.A. Truck just shuts down. The rental company comes, figures it needs a new battery and a fuel pump. They do the job, next morning off i go.

I get about an hour into the Mojave Desert. Shuts down again. Wait 3 hours in 112-degree heat. Get towed to Vegas. It's 118 degrees in Vegas. Guys work on the truck a few hours, tell me I'm good to go. I start to back out of the lot. Guess what? Bitch shuts down again.
Mechanics scratchin' their asses, lookin at my 25 foot truck, beagle in the front seat, car carrier with my dusty old Saab in tow. They're figuring we're (WE'RE) gonna have to off load it and get me and the beagle a new truck.

Bringin it back to baseball now, sounds kinda like the situation our beloved Bombers and their broke down Score truck are in at the moment, yeah? Anyway, long story, longer, one of the mechanics suggests they try replacing the fuel pump fuse or some shit. 50 cent part. Ten seconds of labor. It works. They give me a box of fuses and the truck doesn't break down the rest of the way to NY.

What's the point of this story? Fuck if I know. But maybe all the Yankee Score truck needs is a little 50 cent part, and ten seconds of labor to get us where we're supposed to be going. Our hitters got us here. They've got to figure it out. Otherwise, we'll be off-loading the Score Truck all winter. Get this rig going, guys, will ya? Next stop, World Series.

I guess all comebacks have to start somewhere. I can see the Yankees playing well enough to win.

I'm just not sure they can overcome the manager.

I guess that's what hope is for.

LETS GO YANKEES!

As much as I'm holding Girardi accountable for a lot of this series, the sad truth is that the players have not executed. Who beyond Cano and Pettitte has done their part? After 2004, we know anything can happen. The bats need to wake up RIGHT NOW - no late inning rallies, they need to score early and often and take this victory. We can worry about the next game tomorrow.
