Morgan can do the Little League World Series. I'm sure most of what we dislike about him was the Yankee bashing from '96 to the present. Protecting the Big Red machine as the greatest of all time (which they obviously weren't but they can make a reasonably convincing argument).Otherwise, I agree I'd rather watch Morgan and Miller than the awful nonsense we get year after year from Joe Buck and Rick Sutcliff. I'd like the keen mind of Bobby Valentine on my HD, even though he's an ass.. Or how about Harold Reynolds? He is very insightful.

I also think Miller is good. But it seems like ESPN is into producing MLB for dummies, as opposed to appealing to 'knowledgable' baseball fans. Was it Fox that has that incredible stupid 'cartoon bouncing baseball'?

Maybe the average viewer is only capable of obsorbing tired cliches, and exclaimations of grittyness/gutsyness... I don't know. Maybe the show was dummied down by Morgan (who may not believe in dinosaurs) or maybe by ESPN. But Miller seems to be a knowledgeable guy who could actually offer insightful commentary'

Wouldn't that be nice?

I always thought Miller was much better on radio than TV. Glad these guys are out. Has anyone bought the URL for FireRickSutcliffe.com yet?

Huzzah! I can unmute the TV for Sunday Night baseball!

[4] Agreed on Miller. Sometimes he said some silly things, but I don't hold that against him. He's an outstanding play-by-play guy. Joe Morgan was the problem.

After listening to either Joe Buck & Timmah or Rick Sutcliffe during the post-season...I'd gladly stick with Miller & Morgan.

Ken Tremendous never said anything about Jon Miller. It was FJM, singular.

Seriously. I'm glad to see Morgan put to pasture, but I've always enjoyed Miller. Best baseball mind ever behind a microphone? Hardly. But a good one, and likable, and whatta setta pipes.

<i>Going back is Tarasco, to the warning track, to the wall, he's under it now...and it's taken away from him by a fan, and they're gonna call it...a home run!"</i>

(Wit ye well, I saw it done.)

Hope he sticks around for the radio gig. It's what my car sounds like on summer Sunday nights.
