I'd pass on both Werth and Crawford. I also loke the idea of using Ja package of Joba, Gardner/Granderson and potentially another to get younger and more athletic. But, I'd target McCuthcen of the Pirates before either Rasmus or Kemp.

Only go after those guys to drive up the price other teams (Boston) have to pay, giving them less money to go after other players (Lee). Gardner/Granderson/Swisher wasn't that bad an outfield. I do like having a speed guy on the roster, and Brett is a lot cheaper than Carl.

I think Curtis will bounce back next year.

Yes, I agree too. It's just the wrong year for the Yanks to get either of those guys. I think it's less likely they get as much value for Grandy as they would Nick based on this past season's performances plus Nick's ability to walk. The current outfield is capable as long as they perform to at least standard expectations and there's a reasonably healthy Alex to clean up.

[1] Agreed. Like that idea much more. Getting rid of Joba would be f'ing awesome.

Don't think it makes any sense to pursue either. Both would be prohibitively expensive at the same time you are preparing to back up the truck for Lee and may have to do so again for a new SS or 3B in the next two years or so.

Instead, I'd like to see the Yankees package Joba and Gardner for Colby Rasmus or, if he is unattainable, Matt Kemp. I think both players could be had.
