[10] Oh, you're right, "Day in the Life" is a Paul/John song, not a Paul song. Okay. My preference is for the better-orchestrated "Eleanor Rigby". (I don't like to say it, but the very best Beatles songs are the ones where somebody other than the Beatles play the instruments.)

Freakin' WordPress! I had to make a new account (Mr without the ".") and sign in email PLUS go through Safari and not Firefox in order to get a post submitted...ANY chance of this vanishing comment problem being solved by Opening Day??

Oh, The Jesus, Joba, Gardner and 15million...is that enough to get King Felix?? I would think "No"...

They're both great songs, obviously. "Day in the Life," though, I'd count as more of a John song, in that it's John's bits that are truly haunting. But I'd call that the perfect Lennon-McCartney song, probably the Beatles' masterpiece. "Eleanor Rigby" is up there with "For No One," but somehow the latter is just a tad more poignant, more aching, more perfect. Of course, talking about this is like talking about, who's better, Gibson or Koufax? You really can't go wrong. Which, of course, is why they're called the Beatles.

[6] No, "A Day in the Life". And "Eleanor Rigby". So you can see where I'm coming from.

Fabulous choice, Alex, "For No One." It's Paul's masterpiece among masterpieces, if you ask me, and off their album that for my money is their masterpiece among masterpieces (Abbey Road being a close second or perhaps even dead tie).

Anyway, well done!

Cliff! Whaddap Papa!

Yeah, that Muppet one used to be on heavy rotation during the holidays in my house growing up. Imagine my mom with the thick French accent signing those songs. LOL

Maybe Curtis will be a monster next year.

[2] Me too, particularly for the discount. I compared their numbers today and Crawford steals more bases, but that's it. If he continues his lifetime .337 On-Base percentage (.301 at Fenway) then it's like flushing money down the toilet.

Oh, and I have five of the albums in that window on vinyl. The Muppet Christmas one is framed in Amelia's play room.

[1] Yankees win. Seriously, I'd rather have Granderson, though I'd still rather have him in left field with Gardner in center.

Let me just throw this out there and see what people think:

Carl Crawford, lifetime OPS+ 107
Curtis Granderson, lifetime OPS+ 113

Grandy's making $7 million less than Carl.
