[6] Hear Ye, Hear Ye!!
Anyone see the below from Tim Kirkjian? I LOVE Don Mattingly but the "playing the right way" nonsense..bits like this really make me appreciate FanGraphs. I mean, what kind of article is this about the Dodgers? Dinosaur "analysis"..

"Los Angeles Dodgers: Is Don Mattingly the right guy for the job?

He was a terrific player, one relentlessly committed to playing the game the right way. Now he has to teach the Dodgers players how to do the same, something they didn't do as often as they should have last year. Mattingly is a rookie manager, but he has an edge to him. It was Mattingly who, as a player, pulled Ruben Sierra up the runway and told him that the Yankees don't ham it up around the bases after a home run. Sierra listened.

Mattingly has a lot to work with on this Dodgers team. Now we'll see if he can get Matt Kemp and rest of that club to listen."

I dunno, I think Albert isn't happy. He was expecting more. Obviously we don't know the details, but even the extra day he just gave them is a "just out of respect to Stan the Man" thing.

But where does he expect to go? That's what I don't get. Cashman won't pay him the mega$ he's looking for. The Sox won't. What is he thinking?

Some thoughts for a slow day.
The Cards have 2 days left to sign Pujols to a contract, or he is a FA in 2012. If he hits the FA market, at 31, what might he get?

ARod was 25 when he got (his first) $250m.
Will 8/$200m get it done?
He certainly has a chance at the HR record, so maybe he wants 10 years.

The Sox could pass on AGon and go for Albert.
He certainly isn't a fit for us.

Any thoughts?
