hank in “three o clock high”…..one of my favorites. it’s an 80′s movie about a bully who’s new to the school and he challenges a kind of dorky kid to a fight in the parking lot after school after the dorky kid touched him. it’s an unsung gem and one of my favorite movies ever. you seen it?

probably my favorite comedy series ever.
Artie and Hank are so perfectly written, and perfectly played.
It’s a crime against myself that I don’t own this series, and haven’t seen an episode since Larry signed off.
Part of the problem is, my wife doesn’t like re-watching things we’ve seen before. Occasionally she’ll sit through a movie again, but with TV shows, it’s one, and done (or once, and dunce). I’ll watch things over and over, especially this show – but I set aside so little time for TV and movies anymore.

Off the top of my head I’d say Larry Sanders, and The Odd Couple are my top two, and Curb Your Enthusiasm is right up there, as well.

2) Yeah, but that’s why Hank is great because he’s such a mess and he’s so naked and vulnerable about it. Artie is a tremendous character, played perfectly by Torn.

I just recently watched the run of the series on Netflix streaming. Jefferey Tambor was terrific, but sometimes Hank was in such pain, with such frustration and anger, that it freaked me out.

My favorite character was Artie. I just loved his attitude, and Rip Torn was brilliant. You should put his best moments together, including my choice for number one–when Hank wanted to prove that he (Hank) knew how to take care of hecklers and asked Artie to heckle him.
