I have maintained a refrigerator display of articles that promote the idea of schmuckdom. On the door, right as we speak, is an article of a person who died while sitting on his porch. The body was not discovered, though observed, because people thought it was a halloween decoration. I am thinking of replacing it with this woman's story, one of great stupidity, tempered only by the fact that speaking with a cheese head accent may not have registered with a native Japonese woman.

So this isn't news, exactly, but David Pinto is bringing out his Probabilistic Model of Range assessments for the last five years. Very interesting. To everyone's surprise, the Yankees had the second-best defense overall (after the Red Sox). More than surprising, actually. Second, to nobody's surprise, Jeter stunk. And third, a well-kept secret except to Yankee fans, Robbie rocked.

Is long form reads based on Arts and Letters Daily? http://www.aldaily.com/
I've been reading that one for a decade, and I hope to read it for another decade, even with the paywalls coming.
