I still don’t see why the Twins would want to move Liriano, the team is better with him than without. Are they that afraid of his arm? Do they think that they’re not going to be able to compete with the White Sox and Tigers?

If Liriano checks out OK physically, then this is a deal I think the Yankees have to make. He’s a legitimate No. 2 starter and potentially an ideal replacement for Pettitte.

another lefty in the rotation would be very very nice, but Joba & Nova seems like a lot of talent to give up for a pitcher with Liriano’s injury history. Still, given the Yankees depth, I’d probably do it.

oh, and again- so much for the meme that Joba has no trade value. If I had a dollar for every time I read here that he’s washed up and worthless I’d be building myself a Jeter house.

Since Joba seems to be screwed up in pinstripes, how can you argue getting a starter, a good one, albiet with “work ethic issues,” not to mention a considerable injury history, in exchange?
