[4] i'm so glad your drumming gig was mostly original prog stuff, that's fantastic! playing gigs for living as a drummer isn't as easy as most people would probably think, either. definitely a "job" and one not to be taken for granted!

i haven't played up north in a minute, but it's possible i do a big festival up there this summer, or next. i just released my debut solo percussion cd and am finishing up the 2nd one, which will be out in a year. pretty soon, i'll link my name here to a website and there will be some 411 there. i'd love to play a gig back home and have some Banterers swing by!

ps - yeah, i'm like a half a year older than Captain Jetes...

[2] I knew you'd dig, Jon. It was great. Hopefully next year if/when we do it, they'll open it up for us to invite friends.

[3] Well, thelarmis, now I know how old you are in relation to me. Ha. I had the Drive For Five painters also. ... And yes, that gig was as a drummer. Power trio. Progressive, original stuff. We did one cover: opened up with Grand Funk Railroad's "I'm Your Captain." Our set was about 35 minutes, and it was over way too soon. Much like last Wednesday. I'll have to come see you play some time.

this was really cool, congrats Will!

i'm not a hockey guy, but i was when i was a little kid and the Isles were good. i remember wearing my Islanders "Drive For Five" painters hat every single day in 5th grade. my uncle (godfather, not real uncle) was the VP for the Isles (and Muts) around that time, so i got to go to some games. i think he was at the tail end of them being good and was at Shea before the Muts got good in the mid-80's.

was your one gig as a drummer? i've played over 2,000 and it's still the best job on the planet! : )

Psyched for you Will, that was great. I think you made the correct shot - especially early in the period. Gotta test the goalie.
