Then again, there&#039;s stuff from that era, like Penn&#039;s &quot;Mickey One,&quot; that qualifies as pretentious and I love it.  Maybe I was more afraid of Steiger overacting.</description>

		<description>I&#039;d rather watch the cynical Bridge on the River Kwai than the almost Stanley Kramer-ish feel good liberalism of 12 Angry Men any day.   It&#039;s a beautifully constructed and acted piece, no doubt, but it&#039;s pretty mushy.

I prefer the nastier Lumet.</description>
