So Joba pitched an inning on May 2nd, 7th, 8th, and 10th. I can't find anything on why he wasn't used last night other than LoHud stating at 11:18 during the game that he was resting. Unless he's inured I simply don't get it. grrrrrrrrrrrr......

Hopefully, we're not going to see too much more out of Buddy Carlyle. I know he had pitched well prior to last night, but his track record indicates the league will catch up quick. With all of the good young pitchers the Yankees have at Triple-A, it's a shame that they don't bring one of them up over a journeyman with little major league success.

Sweet write up, Hank! That Nettles-Brett brawl is hilarious. First inning of the game too. I loved how Guidry took Brett down. And then the benches cleared at there was Billy Martin with his arm around Freddy P like "It's okay, boys, settle down."

Classic about it wast that nobody was kicked out of the game, nobody was suspended. That was the game Reggie was benched. Came in as a pinch hitter with a lucky bloop RBI single...if the Yanks lost that one, Mr. October might never have been.

Man, I used to hate George Brett more than anyone in baseball, except Rose. That fight was fantastic. Will never forget it. Hard to hate tiny Freddie Patek though And U.L. was too cool with that toothpick. Met Willie (who is a Joisey boy) at a baseball clinic at my H.S. in Jersey...did a base running/stealing lesson.
