[0] Miles. Coolest motherfucker to ever walk the Earth. Am sure you know the old joke: Sonny Rollins dies and gets up to heaven in the jazz wing. He sits at the bar and greets Parker, Trane, Armstrong, all the greats. Over on the corner is a small dude, with shades on and his back turned. "Who's that?" asks Sonny. Trane saya, "Oh, that's just God again pretending like he's Miles."

this is NOT just Miles & Trane. it's Philly Joe!!! and, of course, Mr. PC & Red Garland.

beautiful. perfect. *amazing.*

my jazz trio used to play this tune quite often. only a lot faster. we did most everything really fast. perhaps i'll post video of our old trio doing this, one day...

i can't stand boxing and will never ever ever ever ever understand why beating the shit outta somebody can be considered entertaining or a sport, but Miles was a big fan.

his tribute to jack johnson sessions were excellent, but a decidedly different style of jazz than what's featured here...
