[2] Alex, the book is far from depressing. It’s actually a fascinating read. The thing I failed to mention in the review is that it doesn’t have to be read cover to cover, or go chronologically. For example, [3] if RagingTartabull only wants to check stuff from the Big Show Era, you can. Best part about reading on the Kindle is the search function so you can easily index and find what you want to read. That alone makes it worth the $12.99 download price.

[4] Jon, many people share your view, and like I said, if you’re not interested in it, consider all those variables before shelling out to read it.

ESPN, the television network, really is just a terrible, terrible product. It is one of the best examples in cultural history of profit not being equivalent to quality. I don’t watch it and reading a book about it would be sheer torture for me.

I might pick it up, but I’m really only interested in the Big Show era and some of the gossipy stuff. I don’t think I’ve ever read more than 5 pages OF ESPN The Magazine, so I don’t know if I can read more than 5 pages ABOUT ESPN The Magazine.

There was a pretty good book called “ESPN: An Uncensored History” that came out around 2000 and has some wacky stories starring Mike Tirico.
