[9] Man, Bernie...that would have been nice. Hey, anyone can actually meet these folks, but it takes a special skill to ALMOST meet them... ;-)
Oh, and I have a weakness for some good ice cream myself...so I can understand you making the pit stop.

[7] I missed Berine Williams by a matter of less than a minute when I was on the strike team of a live promotion event for SoBe in Madison Square Park a few weeks ago. If I hadn't stopped for ice cream along the way, I mght have gotten a chance to shake his hand But it was Mr. Softy, which I hadn't had in a while >;)

Just got back from vacation yesterday and only caught the action after the score truck had already rolled in. By the way, on the way home from the beach we stopped in at an IHOP in Foley, AL and as we were waiting to be seated this guy walked by and I only caught a glimpse of him as he and his wife made their way out the door. I told my wife, "That's Andy Pettitte!" Of course, she just looked at me like I was crazy and said "What would Andy be doing in an IHOP in Alabama" I just shrugged and said, "Eating breakfast?". She reiterated, "There's no way that was Andy Pettitte". Just then the couple with them walked by and the guy had on a Yankees shirt so I casually got up and discreetly walked out to see if it really was Andy. By the time I got outside, they had all piled into an Escalade with Texas plates. Only when I got home and checked the internet did I find that Andy had been speaking at a Christian youth camp in Orange Beach this past weekend... Good news: I got to tell my wife "I told you so". Bad news: I missed a great opportunity to meet Andy Pettitte...

[1] Perhaps a better question is whether we actually want Soriano back, with his moping, wildness, and ridiculous opt-out clause.

Nice to come home last night to see that the Score Truck had a big delivery already. Made it easier to watch the CWS.

[0] What might this team do when all the missing pieces return in the second half?

Yes, but can they beat the Big Boys™ ?

/ sarcasm.

I know this fact can be interpreted differently, but Yankees fans have to be (in my opinion) optimistic that they sit in first by a game or two despite basically losing every game to the Red Sox.

[0] Is the Soriano part true here: If I had told you back in March that Rafael Soriano and Joba Chamberlain would be lost for the season ?

I know he was xfered to the 60 day DL, but I hadn't heard/read that he was out for the rest of the season.

Anyhow, great write-up Mr. Waddles.
