		<description>I&#039;ve very excited that we&#039;ve only now reached early 1977, and we&#039;ve already had 17 parts.  I can&#039;t wait to see where this goes next!

[1] I think Boswell is a great writer, but I also had the pleasure of reading him before I learned anything from Bill James, Rob Neyer, BPro, etc.  Younger folks&#039; first exposure to him might have been some of the less than stellar stuff he&#039;s written more recently (e.g., &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2006/03/small-ball.html&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;this piece that FJM deconstructed&lt;/a&gt;), which does not give a full portrayal of his work.</description>

		<description>I loved the first three Boswell compilations, &quot;Why Time Begins on Opening Day,&quot; &quot;How Life Imitates the World Serious,&quot; and &quot;Heart of the Order.&quot; I&#039;ve often wondered why his reputation seems to have slipped with younger fans these days. Perhaps it&#039;s because he falls somewhere between Roger Angell and Bill James, though that&#039;s not entirely fair to Boswell. Anyhow, revisiting those collections is always rewarding.</description>
