Here in central North Carolina, I can get 880 on my car radio pretty well at nighttime. My wife must wonder why I'm always so willing to run out for milk or that one thing we forgot at Target. Would be a shame to lose that.

I also have the MLB channels on XM, but that's a crapshoot - you're just as likely to end up with Hawk Harrelson or someone similarly annoying as you are to get "Ma and Pa."

What I really miss is Kay and Sterling together on radio. I know each has detractors, but as a pair, there was a sly dynamic. I like Waldman a lot, but she doesn't have Kay's way of undercutting Sterling so that Sterling was the only one not to know.

You know, Alex, it goes to prove what I've always said: You just can't predict radio.

As one of those people who is lucky enough to be able to pick up WCBS's signal way out in eastern Massachusetts, I'd be pretty ticked if the Yanks moved their games to an FM station (or worse) 1050ESPN.

I would actually miss Sterling and Waldman, a little bit, if they were gone. I'd rather a transition of sort, and I hope that someone follows Raissman's suggestion: get them a little relief, start to break in a new voice or two.
