Their music was admired by many of rock royalty, but was not a huge commercial success. That being said, the version of this song by the Carpenters is the one that will forever be remembered. As a teen, I was a rock lover and gave up on top 40 once "Progressive FM" took hold, but was a closet fan of the Carpenters. It's nice to see them getting their due as important members of pop/rock history.
