Not a subway story but I was near Rockafellah Center today and saw a woman with blond hair and no shirt walking down the block. Tits out there, bam. I was too late on the draw with my phone to take a picture, but she smiled at me as she passed and I saw that she had a think black mustache painted on her face with eyeliner maybe. And as I watched her go down the block, here came a couple of officers.

i usually move away from someone holding coffee or a hot beverage.
i've seen people spill it a few times - mostly ended up on the train but have seen it end up on people a couple of times.

i was on the 3 yesterday mid morning, and this older lady got on the train with her coffee. she kept accidentally kicking this woman sitting down and she said 'sorry i don't know why i keep kicking you.' the lady sitting down responded kind of harsh she was far more worried about her spilling coffee on her - old lady moved away at the next stop.

[5] that's my feeling too. if it is crazy hot and i feel dehydrated i would drink water on the train but otherwise i don't want to consume anything in there.

I draw the line at utensils. A quick slice, even a hot dog... But, dude, put the yogurt away.

As long as no one's eating tuna, I'm okay with food, makeup, drinks on the subway. I can't stand tuna though. Make me punch-you-in-the-face angry.

Otherwise though, I always thought it was kind of cool, how someone could feel so comfortable in a public place, smushed in, just doing their morning thing. It always struck me that it was folks who were born and raised on the train that could do that stuff.

Don't get me started.

One thing; a personal opinion on the esthetics of consuming. Food and drink do not have the optimum taste, smell, or feel when consumed in the stinking, noisy, physically jerking, and socially oppressive environment of the subway.

We don't expect our favorite restaurants to transport us anywhere. If you are that famished or thirsty, and have no other time to consume then on the subway, then have at it. But it would be better for you (and your fellow riders) to wait for a more favorable place.

The people who scare me are the ones who get on the train, and then put their hot coffee down on the seat next to them while they do something else. It's like, "You know this train moves, right?"

I have seen them and ALWAYS fear a disaster when someone near me is holding a hot beverage. I have a friend who straight up tells people, "Look, I'm an angry person. I'm telling you now, if that spills on me I'm going to lose my shit." The people move away. I don't have the nerve to carry that out.
