Her revisionism on her own revisionism in re: auteur theory is a load of bullshit. Why would she be modulating at that point instead of sticking to her guns (misguided though they may have been)?

I like her points about eroticism in the movies. I think its also partially a key to her over the top love of DePalma. I only wish she’d been around to review DePalma’s “Femme Fatale,” a movie that got savaged by many (although Roger Ebert liked it a lot, I recall), but I think she would have really enjoyed. (for the record, I liked it)
