Thanks, man. Wished P. Kael had written about "Deep Throat." Her thoughts about eroticism in the movies were always right on.

[1,2] And I happen to like DePalma more than most. Even "The Fury." However, I will never understand her "Casualties of War" review. I really wanted to love that movie, and it's not awful...but...I don't know, Ms. Kael.

2) Alex, naked Rebecca Romijn. Even if you hate the flick, you'll still be glad you checked it out.

Her revisionism on her own revisionism in re: auteur theory is a load of bullshit. Why would she be modulating at that point instead of sticking to her guns (misguided though they may have been)?

I like her points about eroticism in the movies. I think its also partially a key to her over the top love of DePalma. I only wish she'd been around to review DePalma's "Femme Fatale," a movie that got savaged by many (although Roger Ebert liked it a lot, I recall), but I think she would have really enjoyed. (for the record, I liked it)
