[14] fun game! i'm definitely down with that contest going on the "chyll & thelarmis <b>anti-foodie</b> show"!

i'm totally down with eggplant and veggie burgers. i can do onions, too. and all those weird veggies that go in oriental dishes, i'm cool with those.

my favorite veggies are pizza & beer! ; )

[16] Nope, I stated my disgust with artichokes not long ago here. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfbK_dbsCu0&feature=related" rel="nofollow">Brussel sprouts?</a> It doesn't matter if you put Christmas in them, I'm not touching em.

I'm a beet-nik, an acquired taste, but one that has taken hold of me in my "advancing" years. Incredibly versatile, unbelievable benefits (lower blood pressure notably) and a little bit goes a long way!

Yeah, sauerkraut is a vegetable.
What about artichokes? Do you like artichokes? You don't like Brussels sprouts, right? But Mark Bittman makes them with bacon. (I think Alex posted that recipe a year ago or so.) Bacon and figs. They are sublime.

[14] That's going on the show!

I forgot about cucumbers (yeah, they're useless but I like them), squash (I know, I know; I criticized them before, but I can take it in small piles), yams (the kid in me has accepted this as a hazard of growing up) and I like the cauliflower at a very specific restaurant that I can't afford on my own, so I've only been once. I can take onions and peppers only as very-very diced additive to a greater dish or to cook with.

I can't stand broccoli. I hate collard greens (I hate most greens except my favorite, benji-greens >;) asparagus sucks, celery makes me choke and okra reminds me of the cross-section of some Venusian's sinuses with the flu. I say no thank you to beets, turnips or radishes (too sour) and I've played some interesting games with all varieties of peas. Is sauerkraut a vegetable? I don't like that, either... and I'm not all that sanguine with veggie burgers.

I made asparagus soup tonight. Shallots, chicken stock (home made! very unusual for me), a little garlic, a bay leaf, and of course cream.

I like all vegetables except some particularly sweet ones. Beets, no. Rutabaga, no. I really love cauliflower this time of year -- I made cauliflower korma this week, with eggplant and peas, wow, I love that.

Thelarmis, I am somewhat impressed. Your taste is weird (we knew that!) but it's... distinctive. It has style. I mean, spinach and zucchini yes, broccoli and string beans yuck? We should have a contest to see who could best sort new foods into your Love and Hate categories.

Oh, I forgot asparagus! Mmm... I usually roast it with some diced garlic and olive oil, and then drizzle a little melted butter over it as it comes out of the oven.

11) Yeah. I just don't care for the cheese part of it but otherwise, agreed. I sometimes add slices of cornichons. Or include some fresh herbs, like parsley or basil or even tarragon.

[9] - fresh arugula, pine nuts, a drop of either crumbled blue cheese or fresh goat cheese and some sliced beets and a zesty balsamic or lemon vinagrette = an incredibly refreshing salad (props to my sister-in-law Andrea for introducing it to me!)

i love carrots. i'll eat 'em cold w/ a veggie dip, but i love 'em cooked, whether it's in chicken soup or a curry dish.

i like corn and potatoes a lot, too. what about garbanzo beans? do chick peas count? i like those, also.

i love cucumbers, but i guess they're kinda useless. and that's a veggie/fruit fence straddler, as well, with the seeds...

chyll - i don't eat jellybeans! never have. i hear ya on the spinach and potatoes, as a kid. but i'm down with both.

i LOVE sauteed spinach!!! love it, love it, love it. in fact, i probably cook that 2 or 3 days a week, as a side. plus, i put fresh spinach on my turkey sandwiches. most lettuce is like shredded paper.

i also totally dig zucchini and squash. i like red, orange & yellow peppers, as well. green ones just make me burp...

now... broccoli, cauliflower, string beans, peas, beets, asparagus, radishes = yuck, yucky, yucksville!!! especially broc, asparagus, and cauliflower. just disgusting. feh. : /

Was never a big vegetable eater, I stuck mostly to the basics - corn, broccoli (rock on, Branco!) and the occasional string bean (but only in it's uncooked state). However, I have developed taste for the following: butternut squash, turnips and my new absolute favorite...beets! I never realized how tasty they are!

Oh, yeah, love corn but I tend to only eat it in season. And I like string beans but there is something about the way they feel in your mouth, the waxiness I guess, that turns me off. Not enough not to eat them but enough not to eat them all the time.

I can dig it. Took a while to come around to carrots as a kid, but Bugs Bunny sure helped. Didn't work for Popeye with spinach, though (yuck!) In fact, I didn't eat potatoes until I put two-and-two together that french fries were potatoes in kid-friendly form, and later to accept that the skins were better for you. Oh, how many empty potato skins I threw away...

My favorite vegetable is still corn, followed by string beans. Potatoes I hardly consider a veggie, and I'm on the fence with the fruit/veggie argument with tomatoes. I like black-eyed peas, not not so much other kinds of beans (jellybeans are not a veggie, thelarmis) and don't forget romaine lettuce. Other than that, I'm still exploring, but not impressed.
