[7] here, here! i'm actually nowhere close to where i thought i'd be career-wise (or relationship wise), but the music business is a tough industry and i'm not so sure i'd fully enjoy being in the position i always dreamed of. i make a fine living doing what i love, so that's pretty successful right there. i swing my sticks for a living and that rules! in fact, i'm off to the studio in a little bit and will be working on my music the rest of the weekend...

and congrats on the new cat!

[6] Yeah, me neither. But I don't discount the life I have now; it could be a lot better, but it could be a lot worse. I made it this far, which is more than what I thought would happen back then. Friendly's bad service is far from the worst thing that ever happened, so I can dig it >;)

my experience was different...

my band, while in middle school, was pretty popular within our school and age group. we'd play a local gig on a friday night, get our gear packed up and hit the local friendly's. the other kids would come in by the dozens and we'd be signing autographs while scarfing down a sundae! too bad it didn't translate to real life, where a quarter century later, i'd have a hot rock chick by my side... : /

I would always go for the mint chocolate chip or the chocolate fudge brownie. For whatever reason, I was never able to join the Cubs Scouts or Boy Scouts, but there was a large bible-study group that filled in as a replacement for Boy Scouts in our region that anyone could join; we went camping and hiking and did a lot of activities that were similar year round. On many occasions the group leaders would take all the kids out to Friendly's and buy ice cream sundaes for everyone.

Those were different times, I suppose; a lot of things kids like us used to do that we could never do now for reasons that don't directly involve technology, unfortunately.

[2] You'd think it was the food that caused them to declare bankruptcy, but no, it was the customer service that did them in. But I bet if they'd partnered with Denny's, nobody would have noticed and they'd have in fact doubled their profits. Frankly, if it wasn't for The South, I wouldn't know how Denny's stays in business >;)

Yes indeed, but only if it doesn't turn to a lukewarm soup by the time you get halfway done. That was always my problem with Friendly's...
