[2] Thanks for the important research on hat types.

We were all jury-riggers back then, out of necessity.

My family had a 13" TV when I was a kid. I remember I once accidentally bumped it off the stand and knocked the tube out of alignment.

Whenever my friends came over, they would wonder why Mario ran downhill.

That's a good question. A quick google image search shows they are pretty much the same but the Davey Crockett is more boxy.

We had a 13" Sony Trinitron forever. I remember putting tin ferl on the end of the rabbit ears but it only helped the reception if you stayed there and pressed the ferl. I should have gotten clamps but never thought of it at the time.

What's the difference between a Daniel Boone hat and a Davy Crockett hat? I had one growing up in the '60s. It belonged to my brother who grew up in the '50s. I played make-believe with that hat for hours. Of course, as a kid, I didn't have x-box, playstation 3, wii, or my particular form of crack, the iPad, to amuse me.

I did, however have a small black and white tv that I had to hit with regularity to get any reception. That was an energy suck. Loved it. The novelty that tv was, at the time.
