I have a three-fold wallet. I used to keep my metrocard in the wallet, but just tucked in there, not in any compartment. It was easy to extricate the card without even removing the wallet from my pocket. Have to be careful not to let the card slip out when you actually use your wallet, but I didn't do that much either. My cash is outside my wallet, same pocket. My dad taught me that, always have some cash you can throw to a mugger, never pull out your wallet. While he's picking up the dough, you're running the other way!

[4] Yes, the anxiety and frustration (and all the legwork getting the new cards etc..) are all well worth the anecdote, which I'll have a lot longer than this wallet :)

[2] "do you really want to be whipping it out on the subway platform just to secure your card? I don't know if I would do that"

It would certainly be an interesting trick, but I wouldn't want to blemish my clean record over some freaky isht like that either >;)

It's a money clip with a small pouch for a few cards. The clip has a magnetic claspe to keep it in place.

I think you are onto something though. I don't know if you read about the time the magnet got attached the underside of a cookie sheet and ended up lost in the oven for 5 days.

But no matter the type of wallet, do you really want to be whipping it out on the subway platform just to secure your card? I dont know if I would do that

I hope you'll forgive my laughing at your plight, Jon, but Jesus, wtf is a "magnetic wallet?"

Sounds like some super hero gadget.

And more to the point, perhaps you might consider getting a normal wallet, like the rest of us schlubs have?
