[8] You're right, funny how deaf most sportswriters are even to fairly recent history.
I did get pretty excited about John Starks, actually. If Lin turns out to be that good, I'd be pretty psyched, too.
(Whereas I dislike Rondo.)

Boat, you're not the only one, trust me. I get mad at illegible graffiti...

I'm waiting on this Laker game to see if Lin is the real deal, though it would take going up against a Nash, Kidd, Paul or Rose to really convince me. Other than that, I'm definitely rooting for someone who can get me interested again in the Knicks despite its organizational shortcomings... what's really insane is the talking heads are acting like this is the first time anyone has come out of nowhere and lit it up like he has. I suppose John Starks doesn't ring a bell, and Rajon Rondo was always a top-tier Celtic, right? They may not have been cut by anybody as much as Lin, but they were certainly not on anyone's minds when they became "Starks" and "Rondo".

[6] yea i am assuming that is how novak got most of his points because you wouldn't waste time pick and popping with him, so i would guess lin hit him in the corner if lin kept the ball after a pick and roll with chandler and he does have good passing skills.
i haven't seen lin enough to know if he keeps his dribble as effectively as you have to in a pick-and-roll offense, but i would hope so.

[5] I'm betting on the latter, Ms. Oct. I don't have supreme confidence in his pull-up j, but he has great vision and he passes like nobody's watching.

[3] going to be interesting to see how lin responds when a team makes him go left, which he seems to struggle with, and when there is an actual shot blocker in the paint. can he pull up and shoot a mid range jumper or find the secondary play if he keeps the ball after a pick-and-roll?

MSG still out, no chance to watch Lin. Forced instead to watch another farce at the Carrier Dome. At least it will be the last one as those rat-traitors scamper off to become an afterthought on Tobacco Road.
