[2] Some Jimbo's may not look like much, but looks aren't everything. My housemate introduced me to the one on Amsterdam and 125th when she lived in Sugar Hill; a hole-in-the-wall yes, but when I tried the bacon cheeseburger...

[1] i've walked by jimbo's a million times and have never gone in.
milk burger in east harlem is supposed to be pretty good, but i haven't tried it yet. supposedly their online menu was almost identical to shake shack before they change it.

NICE! I gotta try those first three. As for the fourth, well if I'm ever in the mood for down and dirty, I'd go to Paul's on 2nd Ave and E7th first, but I'll give it a shot.

Pop Burger on 9th Ave and W15th St. is Expensive (on the border of Chelsea and Meat Packing District), but surprisingly satisfying. Get any burger with fries and a shake and you won't regret it. For a smoky grilled flavor with a lot of burger to handle, there's also America's Grill on 3rd Ave between E67-68th Sts, my go-to burger place when I attended Hunter College. End then if you happen to be waaaay uptown, there's nothing wrong with Jimbo's Burger Palace chain.

Good stuff all around, B. I think maybe what those places all have over Shake Shack is not having to wait a long time on line and then having your order made. It's not what a quality I admire about them, but I suppose that way they don't spread themselves too thin like 5 Guys is in danger of doing.
